But flesh with the life thereof, [which is] the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. (9:4)

For the life of the flesh [is] in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it [is] the blood [that] maketh an atonement for the soul. (17:11)

Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood [is] the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh. (12:23)

--Matthew--

Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What [is that] to us? see thou [to that]. (27:4)

When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but [that] rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed [his] hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye [to it]. (27:24)
